Crusaders:
The Crusaders found themselves 7-0 down at home to the Brumbies last week but they turned things around in the second half, running in 5 tries to come through with a 36-14 victory, a margin that was more or less in line with the pre-match handicap.After the cancellation of their Round 5 clash with the Highlanders and a subsequent defeat to the Waratahs in Sydney the Crusaders are back on track and in Round 7 they put in a dominant performance away to the Hurricanes in their most recent NZ derby to secure a 32-8 bonus point win. Earlier NZ derby matches in Christchurch this season saw the Saders beat the Canes (38-22) and the Chiefs (57-28) whilst they also edged out the Blues (24-22) in Auckland in Round 1. The Crusaders are on a 23 match winning streak in Christchurch.
Highlanders:
The Highlanders went down 31-28 at home to the Hurricanes in a terrific game last week but the result leaves the Landers without a victory since they started the campaign with back to back wins away to the Chiefs (30-27) and at home to the Reds (36-31).They had also lost out to the Canes in Wellington by a 3 point margin (25-22) in Round 4 and in Round 6 they went down 33-26 to the Blues in Auckland. Aside from the cancelled home fixture against the Crusaders, all 6 of the Highlanders matches this season have been settled by 7 points or less with the Landers winning 2 and losing 4.
