The Bulls beat the Waratahs 28-21 in a home fixture last week to regain top spot in the SA Conference. They now have an overall record of 6 wins and 4 defeats and they nudged in front of the Sharks on points difference and also have a game in hand over the Durban side. The SA Conference remains tight with 6 points covering all 5 teams in this division.The Bulls have faced just 1 other NZ team this season and it didn’t go well. Crusaders:
The Crusaders needed a converted try from the last play of the game to salvage a 21-21 draw with the Sharks in Christchurch last week. Although the Saders were nothing like full strength it was one of the more surprising results in a season where shock outcomes have become commonplace. The Saders only other match against South African opposition this season came a week earlier when they ran out 36-10 winners against the Lions in another home fixture.The Saders now have an overall record of 8 wins, 1 defeat and 2 draws although 1 of those “draws” came from a game which was cancelled. They remain top of the overall standings but their lead over the Hurricanes has been cut to 5 points.
